v1.1 ·
Smarter schedules, better recall checks, and stronger focus timers
Build 2 makes Studia plan at learning-objective level, adds flashcards and readiness detail, improves RAG-based plan refinement, introduces App Shortcuts and better widget routing, and makes focus timers more reliable in the background.
Build 2 (v1.1) — a larger TestFlight update focused on scheduling accuracy, objective-level recall, and focus-session reliability.
Plans & scheduling
- Learning-objective scheduling — sessions are now built around specific learning objectives, with smarter packing for topics that need more than one sitting.
- More realistic session effort — Studia uses command words and objective metadata to estimate how much time each objective needs.
- Refined plan creation — the plan-creation flow has been split into a dedicated model, with cleaner feasibility checks and review handling.
- Objective-based plan refinement — rate objectives red, amber, or green so Studia can rewrite upcoming sessions around what actually needs work.
- Auto-saved ratings — staged objective ratings are saved as you go, so closing refinement part-way through no longer loses progress.
- Bulk topic rating — quickly mark a whole topic’s objectives when you already know where you stand.
Recall, flashcards & progress
- Per-objective recall checks — focus sessions now ask retrieval questions tied to the session’s learning objectives.
- Better post-session scoring — Studia now derives recall from objective-level self-ratings instead of a single broad estimate.
- Flashcards support — learning objectives can now include flashcard links from the content catalog.
- Readiness detail — the Progress dashboard now shows a readiness index with tappable component detail.
- Clearer mastery movement — the completed-session recap shows how each objective moved from previous rating to current rating.
Focus sessions & system timers
- AlarmKit-backed focus timers — on supported iOS versions, Studia uses system countdown alarms with matching Live Activity presentation.
- More reliable background timing — the focus ticker now pauses cleanly in the background and resumes when the app returns to the foreground.
- Single active timer surface — Studia clears stale alarms before scheduling the current focus segment to avoid stacked or orphaned countdowns.
- Polished Live Activity UI — focus and break Live Activities now have clearer segmented progress and Studia branding.
Shortcuts, widgets & navigation
- App Shortcuts — start your next study session, open Today, open a study plan, or jump to your streak from system shortcuts.
- Better widget routing — widget and shortcut actions now route more directly into the correct Studia surface.
- Improved plan and session deep links — navigation restoration is more robust when opening sessions from widgets, shortcuts, or notifications.
Session recap & streaks
- Updated post-session recap — the recap flow now highlights score, self-rated recall, objective mastery movement, activity tags, and streak progress.
- Streak photo prompt — Studia now nudges you to add a streak photo at the end of a session.
- Smoother photo flow — post-session photo capture and streak-card handling have been cleaned up.

v1.0.1 ·
Smoother setup, clearer privacy controls, and better streak sharing
This update adds helpful in-app tips, clearer local/iCloud study-data controls, a known-issues screen, improved notification copy, and more reliable streak video sharing.
A focused TestFlight update after the first v1.0 build.
Study data & privacy
- Data & iCloud settings — choose whether study data stays local to this device or syncs through your private iCloud.
- Clear local-only wording — the app now explains what local-only storage means, including how iOS backups remain controlled by you and Apple.
- Safer iCloud handling — Studia keeps local changes when iCloud is temporarily unavailable and retries when it can reconnect.
- Updated Privacy Policy and Terms — legal copy now reflects local storage, optional iCloud sync, streak photos, and the app's current data model.
Guidance & support
- Helpful in-app tips — lightweight tips now appear around plan details, actions, filters, the streak gallery, and topic objectives.
- Known issues screen — open issues and workarounds can now be shown in-app from the CMS.
- Polished onboarding and navigation — plan, calendar, progress, focus, and streak surfaces have small usability refinements.
Focus sessions & notifications
- Clearer notifications — study notification titles now use friendlier wording and visual cues.
- More resilient session state — running focus-session state and calendar sync state are tracked locally per device.
Streaks
- Better streak video export — exported streak videos are cached so repeat shares are faster.
- Background-ready sharing — if a streak video takes longer to prepare, Studia can finish preparing it and notify you when it is ready.
- Share-ready deep link — tapping the ready notification opens the streak gallery and presents the prepared share sheet.

v1.0 ·
First TestFlight build
Studia enters TestFlight with an evidence-based study planner for GCSE and A-level science — focus sessions with Live Activities, home-screen widgets, Apple Calendar sync, and a streak gallery, all on-device with no account.
Build 1 (v1.0) — the first public TestFlight of Studia. Built for iPhone and iPad.
Plans
- Guided plan creation — multi-step wizard to pick your exam board, qualification, subject, papers and topics, with a feasibility check before you commit.
- GCSE & A-level science — Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Combined Science, sourced from the Studia content catalog.
- Evidence-based scheduler — generates a session schedule tuned to spaced practice, retrieval, and interleaving across your selected topics.
- Plan refinement & editing — re-shape an existing plan without starting over.
- PDF export — share a plan as a printable PDF.
Focus sessions
- AlarmKit-powered timers — focus and break countdowns that survive lock and backgrounding, with system alerts when each block ends.
- Live Activities — live session progress on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
- Post-session reports — log what you covered with a RAG self-rating (Red/Amber/Green) per topic.
- Study Score — a session-quality metric reflecting focus, completion and reflection. Not a predicted grade.
Calendar & widgets
- Apple Calendar sync — opt in and Studia creates, updates and removes study-session events in your calendar of choice.
- Home-screen widgets — at-a-glance view of your next session, with an App Intent picker so you can choose which plan a widget tracks.
- Deep links —
studia://URL scheme for jumping into a plan or session.
Progress & streaks
- Progress dashboard — see coverage, RAG ratings and recent activity across topics.
- Topic detail — per-topic history and metrics.
- Streak gallery — attach photos or Live Photos from Camera or your library to mark each session; export your streak as a video to share.
Content & rendering
- LaTeX / equation rendering — formulas in study content render properly inline.
- In-app browser — open playlist and resource links without leaving Studia.
- Bundled legal documents — Privacy Policy and Terms available offline, in Markdown.
iPad
- Split view layout — sidebar navigation tuned for iPad, tab bar on iPhone.
Privacy
- No account, no email, no sign-in. Studia works straight out of the install.
- On-device by default — your plans, sessions and progress live in your local store; remote content (catalog, legal text) is read-only and cached locally.
- No third-party tracking or analytics SDKs.
- Standard encryption only — no custom cryptography; the build is exempt from US export compliance documentation.
